JD’s Fishing Charters is owned and skippered by Jason Donaldson, a lifelong fisherman with over 30 years of experience on the water. He’s been fishing since he was a kid and knows every corner of the Hauraki Gulf – from the Mokes to Great Barrier – inside out. Over the years, Jason’s hauled in everything from snapper and kingfish to granddaddy hapuka, maomao, golden snapper, and seasonal species like tuna and marlin. That deep experience and love for fishing shines through every trip he runs.
Operating two boats – the Forella and the Sunflower – Jason offers fishing charters, island cruises, and marine support work.
